New Song

Dear church,

This Sunday, we will be singing a new song, “Come, Christians, Join to Sing.”

This song reminds us of the wonderful grace of God and of how Christ took our sins upon Himself, died, and rose again, conquering death.

“Christ, He the Lamb was slain. Bearing our sin and shame,
Yet triumphed o'er the grave! Alleluia! Amen!”

What encouraging words! No matter what may be happening in our lives, our Savior is alive. He has conquered death, and our hope in Christ remains unshaken.

Hebrews 12:2 says:

“Looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith…”

We want our congregational singing to help us do exactly that—to turn our eyes away from ourselves and our circumstances and fix them once again on the greatness, glory, and finished work of Jesus Christ.

May this song become more than just a new melody for our church. May it be a joyful confession of our faith and a reminder that in the midst of an ever-changing world, we have an unchanging Savior!

Let us sing it not only with our lips but also with our hearts, joyfully and thankfully praising our Lord!

Hallelujah! Amen! All glory to Christ!

Scripture To Memorize

"He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say to the LORD, “My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”
For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence.
He will cover you with his pinions, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness is a shield and buckler.
You will not fear the terror of the night, nor the arrow that flies by day,
nor the pestilence that stalks in darkness, nor the destruction that wastes at noonday."
Psalm 91:1-6
