Our Digital Hymnal: gfcsongs.com
The sun rose on a cold winter morning after a night of wind and rain. As the light first entered through the windows it was dark enough to still need to turn on the lights. But this time, the light switch did nothing. The power was out.
You may perhaps remember this night—it was January 8, 2023. And more importantly, it was Sunday. How were we to gather as a church?
Thankfully our building was still standing and with the help of a generator and a couple loudspeakers, we were able to come together in our gym. And then the question became, how were we to sing without lyrics?
As always, God had provided—gfcsongs.com.
Just over a month earlier, in November of 2022, God had prompted the heart of a young man in our church who had the brilliant idea to create a digital hymnal website. After some brainstorming and a quick prototype, gfcsongs.com was born! Then on December 29, 2022 all of our church song lyrics were uploaded and ready to be used. But we wondered, how would we get the word out about this new resource?
That cold winter morning was the perfect opportunity to try out this new digital hymnal. The gathered church had easy access to the right lyrics and was able to sing together. Praise the Lord!
The website gfcsongs.com exists for your benefit, brothers and sisters. The songs we sing every Sunday are meant to be taken home and sung more than just once a week. These songs are chosen specifically for their singability, richness of theology, and ability to serve you in your everyday life.
This newsletter is to inform you that every song we have in our church repertoire now comes with chords! The goal is to enable every small group and every family to be able to pick up a guitar and play/sing together. You can do this by clicking the little music icon next to a song name.
Once you open the site, you will find tags at the top: rGFC, eGFC, and Other.
You can expect now that every song you hear on Sunday morning will be immediately available with words and chords for your use for family worship or other gatherings. Check out this past Sunday’s new song: Psalm 34 (Taste and See).
To make it easier to access the site, I highly recommend adding it as an app to your home screen. Follow these steps:

Scripture To Memorize
"And calling the crowd to him with his disciples, he said to them, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me."
For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake and the gospel's will save it.
For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world and forfeit his soul?
For what can a man give in return for his soul?"
Mark 8:34-37
