Weekly Newsletter 02/16/2023
Greetings, dear church!
I’d like us to dwell a little longer on the words of Jesus, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few” (Luke 10:2). Just as any important thing in life, this important reality can be pushed out of our minds and once again easily forgotten. To avoid this, let us consider a few steps that we can take.
Firstly, include prayer for missions into your daily prayers. We all have our specific plan we stick to for when we pray, either in the mornings or evenings. Why not add prayer for specific unreached people to our existing prayers? What will help you with this is visiting the Joshua Project website or downloading their app which will daily give you a specific nation that has not yet been reached by the Gospel.

Secondly, learn to notice people of various cultures around you with the goal of evangelizing to them. Many of us are immigrants and people of other cultures in Sacramento are in majority also immigrants. We are naturally in the same boat, and this brings us closer together. An immigrant is more predisposed to listen to another immigrant simply because they share common ground. Why not take advantage of this opportunity?
Thirdly, learn to invite people to your house who are not part of your “comfort zone.” This means inviting those with whom you normally don’t spend much time. This practice will naturally widen your ability to accept people from different cultures and will equip you to reach people who are still living without Christ and eternal life.
Fourthly, remember that everything we own (time, energy, finances, and opportunities), are essentially not ours, but are given to us by God so that we would be wise stewards and would send all this toward the work of spreading the Gospel in this world (Matt. 25:14-30; Luke 16:1-13).

Scripture To Memorize
24 The God who made the world and everything in it, being Lord of heaven and earth, does not live in temples made by man,
25 nor is he served by human hands, as though he needed anything, since he himself gives to all mankind life and breath and everything.
26 And he made from one man every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth, having determined allotted periods and the boundaries of their dwelling place,
27 that they should seek God, and perhaps feel their way toward him and find him. Yet he is actually not far from each one of us,
28 for “‘In him we live and move and have our being’;
as even some of your own poets have said,
“‘For we are indeed his offspring.’
29 Being then God’s offspring, we ought not to think that the divine being is like gold or silver or stone, an image formed by the art and imagination of man.
30 The times of ignorance God overlooked, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent,
31 because he has fixed a day on which he will judge the world in righteousness by a man whom he has appointed; and of this he has given assurance to all by raising him from the dead.”
