“We give thanks to God always for all of you, constantly mentioning you in our prayers, remembering before our God and Father your work of faith and labor of love and steadfastness of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ. For we know, brothers loved by God, that he has chosen you” (1 Thess. 1:2-4)

A believer always has many reasons to be thankful. A Christian is thankful not only on Thanksgiving but every day. However, there’s a unique mark in the thankful heart of a believer that is different from the surrounding world – he has someone to be thankful to, his Creator. Thanksgiving encourages everyone to be thankful. But thankful to whom? Herein lies the difficulty for a non-believer to celebrate this holiday; he cannot say thank you to God whom he rejects. His thankfulness doesn’t have direction. However, Christians do have this direction – God Himself is the One who accepts our thankfulness.

A good tradition in celebrating this holiday is the custom of the dinner table to which are invited various guests. The elders of the church want to encourage you to invite not only your usual circle of relatives and friends to the dinner table, but to also invite those who may not have anywhere else to go (notice especially the youth, some are living without their parents; notice our guests, especially those who regularly attend our services; notice the older generation, some might be celebrating alone). In other words, let’s use the opportunity and practically serve each other, reflecting our name, Grace Family Church.

Please pay attention to the following announcements:

  • On Thanksgiving Day, there will be a special, one-off offering toward the charitable fund of the church (help to those in need).
  • The church family evening service that was previously planned for this Sunday is cancelled.

Below are the services and meetings for this weekend:

  • Thursday, 10:00 AM – Thanksgiving Service
  • Sunday Services:
    1. Worship Service in Russian at 9:00 AM
    2. Worship Service in English at 11:00 AM

* During the services, there will be an additional offering to help the Polyashenko family with funeral expenses.

As previously, due to the restrictions and orders from the health department, we remind you:

  • Keep social distancing and wearing masks in public places
  • Wash and sanitize hands more often
  • If you have flu-like symptoms, were in contact with a person with COVID, or are in the “high-risk” group, then we ask you to stay home
